Sapelo Island Surf Guide

An amazing place accessible only by boat, 10-mile-long Sapelo Island is the jumping-off point for Cabretta and Blackbeard Islands. With a small population of Low Country folks who live in a little village called Hog Hammock, Sapelo is a step back in time. The island has typical beachbreak surf. Best at mid- to high tide but be careful surfing the extreme south end on an outgoing tide when the currents become very strong.
