You wanna surf a fun man-made wave? Mount Maunganui is the sight of the best artificial reef in the world. MM is a sweet A-frame peak with 50-yard rights and, in the right swell, even the occasional barrel. Even better, is it's a hip little town built at the base of an extinct volcano.
