Green Island Surf Guide

Green Island is a classic South Coast setup. Found near the town of Bendalong, the island is located at the mouth of Lake Conjola. You can walk from the beach near the caravan park at Conjola or from Manyana Beach to the north (check it out from Cunjurong Point). Either way, you'll enjoy a picturesque stroll as you watch the waves peel down the side of the island. The walk itself is part of the South Coast experience. It's hard not to unwind as you soak in the quiet country feel of this area.

One of the best aspects of Green Island is the length of the ride that it offers on a good day. The drop isn't too threatening, but it is quick, and drives into a fast opening section that on the right swell direction can offer some hollow sections. A nice wall provides plenty of room for big turns before the wave moves into deeper water further down the line. There are sometimes hollower waves on offer if you paddle further round the back of the island.
