Fox Hill Surf Guide

Fox Hill is quite possibly the best wave in New England when it's on. Located directly across the bay from Rye on the Rocks, Fox Hill is the longest right point in the Granite State. There are three take-off spots, which can be connected with any semblance of skill. Hollow sections are coupled with enough maneuvering space to satisfy anyone's taste. It can handle nearly limitless size; the playing field just moves farther out as the swell grows. The gathering crowd will honk their horns on the bluff to notify you of impending hold-down doom.

At high tide, Fox Hill becomes a different wave. A fun peak off the top of the point, it's often the longboarders' alternative to the nearby break at The Wall. Despite the limited time frame and small take-off area, it's possible to snag a few waves before the word gets out.

There is also a left at high tide on overhead swells, a challenging beast that lurches and leaves the unsuspecting rider hung out to dry as it pitches out onto the ledge. Survive the initial section and it's a plenty fun wave.
