East Point Beachbreak Surf Guide

East Point is close to the city of Visakhapatnam, and directly in front of the Park Hotel. An old British-period lighthouse sits on the point, and local farmers often bring their buffalo to the sea here to bath. A solid, crunchy beachbreak, East Point needs a stiff westerly offshore wind to really turn on. The wind is often southwest and the waves are lumpy with side-chop.

A group of rocks in front of the lighthouse marks the spot as the rocks hold sand that give this beachbreak some shape. East Point is rideable on most days and needs minimal swell to break. Overhead waves here have significant power and grunt, so be prepared for a few poundings.
