Dumbea Left Surf Guide
One of New Caledonia's most classic waves, a long, refined left-hand reef pass with several different sections, from barrels, to air sections, to fat shoulders, to pedal-to-the-medal walls, Dumbea Left has it all. It also has a bit of a crowd problem, but since the lineup is so large and there is more than once take-off zone, there's generally room for everybody. It's not really a dangerous wave as the reef is fairly deep and manageable, but there is always the chance of hitting coral if you get pitched or surf too far inside. Basically, Dumbea Left is a smaller, mellower version of Fiji's Cloudbreak.
