Nantasket Beach:
Boston’s chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is currently raising money to blow up Cape Cod, the evil land finger that robs Boston’s south shore of any trace of south swell activity. They aren’t really, but it’s not a bad idea. The Boston surf scene is a relatively young entity. The area is totally shut out from most surf, but a northeast swell does manage to sneak into the window.
Nantasket Beach is on a peninsula that forms the southern arm of Boston Harbor. Boston’s city skyline is visible across the harbor, which makes surfing there a bit of a must-do novelty. As a whole, Nantasket is a long sandy beach with multiple beachbreak peaks. To reach Nantasket from Boston, drive south through Quincy and follow the signs to the town of Hull and Nantasket Beach.
