About Trigg Surf Travel
Trigg Point:
For such a mediocre wave, this place has an interesting past. In the 1990s, a pack of young locals decided too many boogie-boarders and surf-ski riders were crowding the line-up, and resolved to do something about it. The ensuing intimidation led them to being labeled “surf nazis” in the local media, but it worked. Pretty soon, only competent stand-up surfers were able to get a wave there.
This is the closest Perth’s wave-starved surfers have to a point break – and even then it’s a sandbank that goes both left and right. Perth’s swell-destroying continental shelf kills off most of the power before it hits the beach, but the banks here still give you a half-decent ride. And, despite the history of the place, if you show you are not going to waste a wave by cruising a trim across it, you will get a share of the waves.
